Our Member Groups and use of the name "Participation"

The federation was formed over 50 years ago by a network of Cerebral Palsy Parent Councils representing Brantford, Hamilton, Ottawa, Sudbury, Toronto and Windsor.

In the early 70's the Federation was at the forefront of the movement to establish community based attendant services and living options for people with physical disabilities. The new services were developed by our established members; these new groups included Participation in their names.  For example Participation House, Participation Project or Participation Apartment. Millions of dollars were raised for construction and ongoing maintenance. OFCP continues to provide grants through the Provincial Fund and Housing Fund.
